On a warm evening in our small Philippine town, I sat under the soft glow of a single light bulb, my notebook open before me. Outside, the sound of neighbors sharing laughter and stories filled the air, reminding me of the simple joys and strong connections that defined my life. My name is Hannah Kate Nerona, a Grade 11 student, and this is the story of how my roots, experiences, and dreams have shaped the person I am becoming.

Among these travelers were children who settled in Arizona. There, they discovered the little creature with a vibrant tail that they called Sprite. Ringtails were special because they were cute, affectionate, and incredibly skilled at keeping children safe and free of pests. Sprite was loved by the children and helped make life a little easier for them in the Wild West. Sprite lived at the Arizona Biltmore, a grand historic hotel nestled amidst the stunning desert landscape. The hotel was not just any place. It was home to all who visited Arizona.

There was a boy named Daniel. One day, his parents took him to the zoo. Daniel saw lots of animals there. He saw tigers, lions, and elephants. They were big and strong. Monkeys swung from trees and made him laugh. He liked a black wolf and a playful fox with a hare. Snakes had shiny scales. He also saw a rhinoceros and a polar bear. Daniel felt happy seeing all the animals. He remembered the beautiful colors of flowers at the zoo. Daniel had a great time and made memories at the zoo with his family.

In Arabella learns to Meditate, she sees her good friend, Liam, engaged in some strange behaviour in Miss Sparkle’s lounge and is intrigued. Her curiosity takes her on a journey to discover what meditation is about and finds her learning the marvelous practices of meditation, skills which she is hoping to teach her older brother in an attempt to combat their sibling rivalry. The Arabella Series is based on the quote by the Dali Lama “If every eight year old was taught to meditate, we would achieve world peace in one generation” and is written to bring an awareness of energy healing and practices such as meditation to children around the world. It is my vision to create kind and magical role models for children, to light a spark in them that encourages compassion, forgiveness and love.
