1. John Jr and Jade was learning about Jesus' teachings about honesty. Jesus wants us to be honest in our speech and keep our promises. In 1 John 3:18 Jesus says "Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth." Jade told John Jr that they need to be truthful in their words and actions even when it is hard. They decided they would Be more honest. 2. John Jr and Jade thought of times they were not honest. John Jr told about a time he lied to his mom about getting in cookie jar before dinner. John Jr ate 3 cookies before. His mom knew he wasn't truthful since he had no appetite for his dinner. 3. Jade told about about a time he blamed someone else for something he had done. Jade picked his neighbors flowers and blamed it on his friend Vixen to his neighbor. 4. John Jr told Jade about the two commandments that says not to steal or not to lie. John Jr decided they would practice being more trustworthy by being straightforward, and not lying, cheating, or stealing. Jade share Bible verse Proverbs 12:22 "The LORD detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy." Jesus taught people that the truth will set them free from slavery to sin, self-rule, and self-justification. John Jr and Jade decided that it was very important to be truthful with God. Jesus felt honesty was a gift and loved to be around plainspoken and honest people. John Jr and Jade want to follow Jesus because he is the truth and speaks of the truth and love.

A day on a beach

It was a crisp October day, I woke up to the other dogs whining as the shelter workers let us all out of our kennels. Yes! Freedom! I ran so fast to the playroom to play with my friends! Today was going to be a big day - I can feel it! I played for hours and hours, until I had to have a nap. After lunch I saw two humans walk in and sit on the floor. Everyone crowded around them, jumping on them. Get yourself together guys I thought. I quietly walked over and sat by the mans huge feet. I knew the drill, people visited us all the time and had a few cuddles. As I sat watching the commotion of Simba getting silly all over this ladies lap. I met eyes with the lady human, she immediately picked me up. My legs were dangling and I thought jeez lady I just had breakfast. I stared into her and she stared back, she said "its you, your the one." I said to myself ok lady, do you have food or a ball? The lady stood up and talked with a shelter worker, she came back and said "I'm going to be your new Mom" and I thought "Mom?." She said she would be back, she came back with a new collar and name tag with the name "Koda."

1. John Jr and Hopsi was at Granny's house for a visit. Granny was telling them the importance of having the virtue of faith. John Jr and Hopsi were intrigued and wanted to know how they could have faith. 2. Granny explained faith is confidence or trust in God and his promises, based on evidence but without absolute proof other than his written word, which is the Bible. Granny shared the Bible verse in Hebrews 11:1 "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen". Granny went on to explain that our faith Belief is that God exists, loves us, and sent his son to save us and by showing a commitment by believing that Christ can save us, and how we should putour lives in his hands 2. John Jr and Hopsi wanted a better understanding of faith, so Granny told them that Faith is also complementary to hope. Faith is grounded in the reality of the past, while hope looks to the future. Without faith, there is no hope, and without hope, there is no true faith.Granny told John Jr and Hopsi that they must have a strong trust. 3. Granny went on to say how important the Truth is and urged John Jr and Hopsi to be truthful. She explained that Faith is acting on the truth, whether we feel the truth or not, whether we like the truth or not, whether we agree with the truth or not. 4. John Jr and Hopsi decided that they would practice their faith by HEEARING and they would Listen to God's Word by reading Bible and listening in Sunday School at church. They said they would PRAY and connect with God. John Jr told Hopsi that they couldTALK to friends about their faith. Hopsi said they could LIVE out their faith by Worshipping God and Jesus.
